WebIt's odd that the ping is telling you "network is unreachable". I'd expect route -n to at least show you the default route. Are you by any chance using IPv6 and only getting to IPv6 sites? If so, the first thing I would do is just change the network connection to disable IPv6, or at least enable IPv4 if it's somehow disabled.
